The Bloomington Chess Club had its first meeting today. It was a smooth first meeting, with a turnout
of about 15 kids. There was a good range of age, with kids in the elementary years, and up. Our
student attendees had fun in a casual day of friendly chess playing, socializing with one another, and
listening to Dan Hroncheck speak.
Our advisory board had a productive time, and they're sure to make the next meeting even better. By
the way, be sure to stay tuned for information about the next meeting (if you want to mark the date
down on a calendar sometime).
Remember to stay sharp in chess over the summer (a shout-out to all of you chess players out there),
and play a few games whenever you can. Practicing is key for improvement in your chess skills!
